Who am I?
Hi, I’m Rachel.
I am a leader of product designers, UX researchers, and creative problem solvers in the tech industry helping to create functional and refined digital products for real people. With over 7 years of experience working in higher education, TV, wireless, and the corporate side of the food service industry, I take pride in creating engaging digital experiences using design thinking principles backed by user research and data.
My formal education is in computer science, where I started my career in software engineering. After undergrad, I had the opportunity to pursue my MBA with a focus on data analytics. Although less traditional, my education provided me with a pathway straight into the world of UX. I combined the creative, front-end development side of my brain with the more analytical, research-focused, business side to find that sweet spot in UX.
I crave connection in everything I do. Now before you think, “Wow she’s weird,” let me explain. Connection can be defined as, “The experience of oneness. It’s having shared experiences, relatable feelings, or similar ideas. It is the feeling of belonging to something greater than oneself.” If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s how we foster a connected environment digitally, virtually, and from afar. This is what I love about product design. I am constantly striving to bridge that gap between people and technology to create a sense of belonging and in-group warmth. I am a high-energy individual who brings a positive attitude, self-proclaimed witty humor, and at least a gallon of unsweetened iced tea to everything I do. I love spending time getting to know each and every person I work with on a personal and professional basis.
Now to the fun stuff. I grew up in St. Louis, Oklahoma, and Chicago, not all at once of course, but you could classify it as midwest suburbia. I absolutely love sports. I’ll talk your ear off about the heartbreak that is being a Mizzou football fan, and in return, I will gladly listen to your own heartbreak warfare of your favorite sports team. When I’m not watching sports, I am living out my dream of being a high school hero on the golf course, intramural softball field, basketball courts, or dodgeball arena. I currently reside in Denver, Colorado, so I live for all things classified as mountain adventures. You can pretty much catch me skiing, hiking, biking, golfing, or camping every weekend. When I’m not cruising west on I-70, you can find me in the kitchen perfecting my other craft, cooking. Lastly, I fell into the COVID-19 pandemic trap of getting a puppy. He is a pretty adorable golden retriever named Teddy who always seems to find a way into the back of my Zoom calls. So if any of these things interest you, let’s connect.
And in case you’re curious, here are my favorite teams in order of importance. You can tell I have minimal hometown allegiance.
🏈 Kansas City Chiefs ⚾️ Tampa Bay Rays 🏀 Denver Nuggets 🏒 St. Louis Blues (won’t lie pretty bandwagon)

This is my golden retriever, Teddy. I told you he's pretty cute.

Hiking one of my favorite Colorado trails, Missouri Lakes

You can catch me in the mountains skiing all winter. Jackson Hole, WY.

At the beginning of 2023, I set a goal to play 52 rounds of golf. The Bear Traverse City, MI.

Fun fact, I am licensed to officiate weddings. I had the privilege of officiating a couple of my friends this year. St. George, UT.
